Course fee $125 and includes the book Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals
This course meets all of the requirements to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit in Colorado. Key topics covered are Developing a Personal and Home Protection Plan, Self-Defense Firearm Basics, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals, The Legal Use of Force, Deadly Encounters and the Aftermath, Gear and Gadgets, and Basic and Advanced Skills. The course also includes 2 hours of range time focused on defensive shooting fundamentals.
NRA Basic Pistol Course

This course meets all of the requirements to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit in Colorado. Key topics covered are gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. The course includes classroom and range time.

Get certified as an NRA Range Safety Officer! The RSO course content consists of RSO's roles and responsibilities, range standard operating procedures, range inspection and range rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency.

This course meets all of the requirements to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit in Colorado. We offer comprehensive basic pistol training with an emphasis on safety and the fundamentals of shooting. Our classes are taught in a relaxed environment, while emphasizing safe gun handling. This course will give you the confidence and basic skills, knowledge and attitude to competently and safely handle a handgun. Topics covered are Basic Firearms Safety, Firearms Storage, Firearms Basics, Ammunition, Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting, Cleaning and Maintenance, Holsters, and Knowing the Law. The course also includes about 2 hours of range time.
About Your Instructors
Dan and Cheri Armstrong
Dan and Cheri Armstrong are both NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructors, NRA Range Safety Officers, and USCCA Certified Firearms Instructors.
Dan grew up shooting and hunting from an early age. He spent six years as a Military Police Officer where he received extensive firearms training. Dan also owns and runs Prairie Sporting Goods which enables him to keep up to date on all of the latest developments in firearms and ammunition.
Cheri is an avid hunter and shooter as well. She is a certified 4H shotgun and muzzleloader instructor. She is also the director for the local Women on Target shooting clinic as well as the chapter leader for The Well Armed Woman Shooting Chapter – Pueblo, CO.
Dan and Cheri have a passion for firearms education – especially when it comes to teaching youth, women and new shooters.
